Read the instructions carefully:

  1. The Applicants should read and follow the instructions given under para No.22 (Instructions to Applicant’s to be followed while appearing for Competitive Examinations conducted by the Commission) of the instructions to the applicants which is available in the Commission’s website, viz, www.tnpsc.gov.in/www.tnpscexams.net. These instructions should be followed scrupulously

  1. No applicant will be allowed to enter the examination hall after 30 minutes of the commencement of the Examination.

  1. The applicant should bring the Memorandum of Admission (Hall Ticket) to the Examination Hall.

  1. Applicant should use Blue or Black Ball Point pen only. Except Memorandum of Admission (Hall Ticket) and the specified Ball point pen, nothing should be brought into the examination hall.

  1. Applicants are not allowed to bring Pager, Cellular Phone, Calculator and Watches and Ring with built in Calculator / Memory Notes, Books, Notes, Covers, Handbags, etc. or any other Electronic Device or Recording Device either as separate piece or part of something used by the applicant to the Examination Hall.

  1. If the Photo of the Applicant is not found or not clear in the Memorandum of Admission (Hall Ticket), he/she should furnish a separate Photo affixed on a plain paper, by writing his/her Name, Address, Register Number duly signed by him/her and got attested by a Government Officer belonging to Group “A” or “B” who knows him/her personally and handover it, to the Chief Invigilator. Xerox copy of Memorandum of Admission should also be enclosed for reference. He/She should also give an undertaking to the Chief Invigilator that he/she is a genuine applicant and aware that he/she is liable for criminal/penal action by the Commission, if the information furnished by him/her is found to be incorrect on a future date.


  1. Penalty for violation of commission’s instructions in the objective type examination.

(I) Invalidation of Answer sheet
(a) Usage of inks other than blue or black ball pen.
(b) Usage of pencil.
(c) Answered in a subject other than the one opted in the application/specified in the hall-ticket.
(d) The answer sheet will be invalidated if the box for question Booklet series is not shaded or incorrectly shaded and could not be identified even by physical verification of the answer sheet.

(II) Deduction of marks
(a) Two marks will be deducted for incorrect shading or absence of shading the Register Number.
(b) Two marks will be deducted for incorrect shading or absence of shading of question Booklet Number.

(III) Invalidation of answer sheet/deduction of marks.
Failure to bring the hall ticket to the examination hall will lead to reduction of two marks or invalidation of answer sheet as the case may be, as it may deem fit by the commission on the merit of each such case.

(IV) Criminal Action
Applicants should maintain strict discipline not only in the examination hall,but also inside the campus of the examination venue.Applicants found smoking or in a drunken mood,or found to have entered into quarrel of any kind,or misbehaved with the chief invigilator or with the inspection authorities or with invigilator or with any other applicant who has come to write the examination,either in the examination venue or inside the campus of the examination,either before or during or after the examination,are liable for severe action including appropriate criminal action.

(V) Debarment.
(a) Copying from another applicant in the examination hall.
(b) Permitting others to copy from his answer sheet.
(c) Copying from books or notes which are printed/Typewritten/hand written will also lead to debarment of the applicants for such a period as the commission may decide.
(d) Seeking the help/assistance of any official/hall supervisor in answering question in examination hall.

(VI) Invalidation of answer sheet/debarment.
Possession of electronic devices such as cellular phone, watches and Ring with inbuilt memory notes, etc.,or any other electronic device and non electronic devices such as P & G Design Data Book,Books,Notes,Handbags etc….

  • Graduate of a recognized University or equivalent.
  • Diploma in Secretarial Practice/Commercial Practice from recognized Institution or National Council of training in Vocational Trades Certificate in Stenography from a recognized Institute/Board/University.
  • Three years’ experience as Instructor (Stenography)

Staff Nurse Grade:
  • 10+2 OR its equivalent

Pharmacist (Allopathic):

  • Diploma in Pharmacy from recognized Institution and registered as pharmacist under the pharmacy Act, 1948; and
  • Two years’ experience as Pharmacy in any recognized Hospital or Pharmacy after duly registered as pharmacist under the Pharmacy Act,1948 and OR Bachelor degree in Pharmacy (B. Pharma) from a recognized University or equivalent; and registered as a pharmacist under the pharmacy act, 1948.

Pharmacist (Ayurvedic):
  • 12th class passed or equivalent with Science Stream (Physics or Chemistry or Biology) from recognized Board or University and
  • Degree in Ayurvedic Pharmacy or diploma in Ayurvedic pharmacy course, duration of which should not be less than two years from any Government Organization or recognized private Institute or by any University and registered with respective State Government Ayurvedic Regulatory Board or Councils, and
  • Two years experience in the field of Ayurvedic Pharmacist from any recognized Ayurvedic Dispensary or Hospital or Pharmacy or wellness Centre.

Pharmacist cum Clerk (Homeopathic):
  • 12th class passed or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry or Biology from a recognized Board or University. (ii) Diploma or certificate course in Homeopathic Pharmacy of at least one year duration from recognized Institution.

Lab Technician:
  • 12th class pass with Science subject (Physics, Chemistry, Math or Biology) or equivalent from recognised Board or University;
  • Diploma in Laboratory Technician from a recognized Institute and
  • Two years’ experience as Laboratory Technician in a recognized Hospital or Laboratory

Vocational Instructor (General Electronics):
  • Matriculation or its equivalent
  • National Trade Certificate in the Appropriate Trade or National Apprenticeship Certificate in the Appropriate Trade or any other recognized equivalent qualification in the appropriate trade with at least 3 years practical experience.

Vocational Instructor (Maintenance Mill Wright)
  • Diploma in Engineering or Technology in the relevant field from a recognized Bard or Institute with two years post qualification experience. or Bachelor’s Degree in any field from a recognized University or Institute and National Trade Certificate (NTC) from National Council of Vocational Training (NCVT)

Vocational Instructor (Engineering Drawing)
  • Diploma in Engineering or Technology in the relevant field from a recognized Board or Institute with two years post-qualification experience. OR Bachelor’s Degree in any field from a recognized University or Institute and National Trade Certificate (NTC) from National Council of Vocational Training (NCVT)

Instructor (Processing)
  • Degree in Textile Chemistry or three years Diploma in Handloom Technology or three years Diploma in Handloom and Textile Technology or equivalent with Post Diploma in Textiles Chemistry or Textile processing or three years or Diploma in Textiles Chemistry from recognized Institution.

Age Limit and other Instructions:
  • Candidate’s Age Limit Should not exceed (Post 1, 7-10 - 30 Years). 
  • Applicant age should be between (Post 2 - 21 to 35 Years), (Post 3, 5 - 18 to 25 Years), (Post 4 - 20 to 30 Years), (Post 6 - 18 to 30 Years).
