 Junior Analyst for Drug Testing Laboratory - 14 Posts; Salary - Basic Pay Rs.9300/- Academic Grade Pay Rs.4600/- plus allowances in Pay Band II category (Basic Pay Rs.36400/- plus allowances in Pay Matrix Level 16); Educational Qualification - B.Pharm. with one year experience in analysis of drugs (or) Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry / Pharmaceutical Chemistry with two years experience in analysis of drugs (or) BSc Chemistry with Analytical Chemistry as one special subject and one year experience in analysis of drugs; Age limit - 30 years (should not have completed) for UR candidates (except Destitute Widow); All others there is no age limit.

Junior Chemist for Industries and Commerce Department - 6 Posts; Salary - Basic Pay Rs.9300/- Grade Pay Rs.4400/- plus allowances in Pay Band II category (Basic Pay Rs.35900/- plus allowances in Pay Matrix Level 13); Educational Qualification - Post Graduate Degree in Chemistry (any branch) (or) Associateship in Diploma of the Institution of Chemists (India). Priority will be given those who-ever having Post Graduate Degree in Analytical Chemistry / One year practical experience research / Ministry of Science and Technology recognized Analytical / Metallurgical Laboratory; Age limit - 30 years (should not have completed) for UR candidates (except Destitute Widow); All others there is no age limit.

Chemist for Industries and Commerce Department - 3 Posts; Salary - Basic Pay Rs.9300/- Grade Pay Rs.5100/- plus allowances in Pay Band II category (Basic Pay Rs.37700/- plus allowances in Pay Matrix Level 20); Educational qualification - MSc Chemistry / Post Graduate Degree in Chemical Technology / Industrial Chemistry with minimum 2 years experience in Chemistry / Applied Chemistry / Analytical Chemistry; Age limit - 30 years (should not have completed) for UR candidates (except Destitute Widow); All others there is no age limit.

Archaeological Chemist for Department of Archaeology - 3 Posts; Salary - Basic Pay Rs.15600/- Grade Pay Rs.5400/- plus allowances in Pay Band III category (Basic Pay Rs.56100/- plus allowances in Pay Matrix Level 22); Educational Qualification - MSc Chemistry; Age limit - 30 years (should not have completed) for UR candidates (except Destitute Widow); All others there is no age limit.

Age Limit Details for TNPSC Chemist Posts:

Cut off date for age 01.07.2017
Minimum age limit is 18 years (should have completed) for all.
Maximum age limit is 35 years (should not have completed) for UR candidates (except destitute widow). No maximum age limit for BC / BCM / MBC / DNC / SC / SCA / ST candidates and Destitute Widow of all communities, includes UR.
PwD: Persons with Disabilities will get additional 10 years relaxation.

Examination Details:

Analyst Posts

Two papers in MCQ type of examination.

Paper I: Pharmacy / Pharmaceutical Chemistry / Chemistry (UG Std Level)

Total 200 MCQs; each question will carry 1.5 marks; Total 300 marks.

Paper II:  General Studies (Degree Std Level) 75 MCQs; Aptitude and Mental Ability Test (10th Std Level) 25 MCQs

**There is no negative marking system.

Personal Interview 70 marks.

Junior Chemist / Chemist / Archaeological Chemist Posts:

Two papers in MCQ type of examination.
Paper I: Chemistry / Chemical Technology (PG Std Level)

Total 200 MCQs; each questions will carry 1.5 marks; Total 300 marks.

Paper II:  General Studies (Degree Std Level) 75 MCQs; Aptitude and Mental Ability Test (10th Std Level) 25 MCQs

**There is no negative marking system.
Personal Interview 70 marks.
