Applications are invited only through online mode upto 20.12.2017 for Direct Recruitment for the posts of College Librarian, District Library Officer and Assistant Librarian and Information Officer for Anna Centenary Library in Public Libraries Department

30 College Librarian Post vacancy Notification 2017

 

Name of the vacancy posts with details:

1. College Librarian in Govt. Arts and Science College – 21 + 9 C/F (*Carried forward vacancies GT(G) Blind-1 BC(M)(G) -1 MBC/DC(G)-7) Posts; Salary – Scale of Pay Rs.15600/- Grade Pay Rs.6000/- per month Plus Allowances;

Educational Qualification – (i) Master’s degree in Library Science or Information Science or Documentation Science or an equivalent 
(ii) Pass in the National Eligibility Test (NET) or State Level Eligibility Test (SET) in Library Science or a Ph.D. Degree

2. District Library Officer in Public Libraries Department – 9 Posts; Salary – Scale of Pay Rs.15600/- Grade Pay Rs.5400/- per month plus allowances;

Educational qualification – (i) A Master’s degree in Arts and Science. (ii) A Master’s degree in Library Science. AND (iii) Experience for a period of not less than three years in any of the Libraries in a Supervisory cadre

 

3. Assistant Librarian and Information Officer for Anna Centenary Library in Public Libraries Department – 3 Posts; Salary – Scale of Pay Rs.9300/- Grade Pay Rs.4700/- per month plus allowances;

Educational qualification – (i) A Master’s degree of a University recognized by the University Grants Commission and (ii) A Master’s Degree in Library Science or Library and Information Science of a University recognized by the University Grants Commission.

 

Age limit: as on 01.07.2017

No Age limit (for all Posts) -  SCs, SC(A)s, STs, MBCs/DCs, BC(OBCM)s, BCMs and Destitute Widows of all Castes.

Scheme of examination (objective type) and oral test: Total 570 Marks

(i) Paper – I LIBRARY AND INFORMATION SCIENCE (Code No-267)

(200 Questions) (Post Graduate Degree Standard)

Marks – 300, Time duration – 3 Hours

(ii) Paper -II GENERAL STUDIES (Code No-003)(100 Questions)

General Studies (Degree Standard) – 75 Questions and

 Aptitude and Mental Ability (SSLC Standard) – 25 Questions

Marks – 200, Time duration – 2 Hours

(iii) Interview and Records – 70 Marks

**Note:

The Questions in Paper-I (Library and Information Science) will be set in English only and Paper-II ”General Studies” will be set both in English and in Tamil.

Centre for examination:

Examination will be held at the following three Centres

0100 – Chennai

0200 – Coimbatore

1000 – Madurai

Selection procedure:

(i) Written Examination and

(ii) Oral Test in the shape of an interview.
