Assistant Jailor (MEN) in Prison Department - Tamil Nadu Jail Subordinate Service - 16 Posts; Salary - Basic Pay Rs.35400/- plus allowances in Tamilnadu State Pay Matrix Level 11 (Basic Pay Rs.9300/- Grade Pay Rs.4200/-); Educational qualification - Bachelor's Degree in any subject

Assistant Jailor (WOMEN) in Prison Department - Tamil Nadu Jail Subordinate Service - 14 Posts; Salary - Basic Pay Rs.35400/- plus allowances in Tamilnadu State Pay Matrix Level 11 (Basic Pay Rs.9300/- Grade Pay Rs.4200/-); Educational qualification - Bachelor's Degree in any subject

Physical Standards: Height

Height for Male (except SC / SCA / ST): 168 centimeters

Height for Male (SC / SCA / ST): 160 centimeters

Height for Female (except SC / SCA / ST): 159 centimeters

Height for Female (SC / SCA / ST): 157 centimeters

Physical Standards: Chest

Chest for Male (except SC / SCA / ST) 81 centimeters in full expiration;

expansion 5 cm’s

Chest for Male (SC / SCA / ST) 79 centimeters in full expiration;

expansion 5 cm’s

Age limit details for Assistant Jailor Post 2018:

Minimum age limit is 18 years.

There is no maximum age limit - SC / SCA / ST / BC / BCM / MBC / DNC candidates and Destitute Widow of all communities.

There is no maximum age limit - Ex-Service-man candidates from SC / SCA / ST / BC / BCM / MBC / DNC candidates.

UR candidates - Maximum age limit 30 years.

PwD UR candidates - Maximum age limit 40 years.

Ex-Serviceman UR candidates - Maximum age limit 48 years. 

This age concession will not apply to the ex-servicemen applicants who have already been recruited to any class or service or category.

UR candidates, who-ever working more than 5 years in government sector (state / central / PSU) are not eligible to apply, even though they are in with-in the age limit.

Paper – I:    Degree Standard 200 MCQs for 300 Marks;

Time duration 3 hours

1. Constitution and Human Rights

2. Administration of Union and States with special reference to Tamil Nadu

3. Socio – Economic issues in India / Tamil Nadu

4. Current issues at National Level

5. Current issues at State Level

Paper – II:   Degree Standard 200 MCQs for 300 Marks;

Time duration 3 hours 

General Studies 75 MCQs;

Aptitude and Mental Ability Test (10th Std Level) 25 MCQs;

General Tamil or General English 100 MCQs

Interview / Oral Test - 80 marks
